Beach towns, no centre

Sunshine Coast Hookups: Meet Local Singles Town by Town

About 60 km of separate beach towns, so the first thing to settle is which town you each mean.

Read the map first

Which part of the Sunshine Coast are you on?

There is no single centre to head for.

The short answer

Agree the town first, then a public spot in it, such as a market. The coast runs about 60 km and the railway sits inland, so most trips mean a car or a bus. Plan your way home before you go. A yes can turn into a no at any point.

Wikipedia puts the urban area at about 60 km of coastline, from Pelican Waters to Tewantin, so Caloundra is a long way from Noosa.

Name the town, not just the coast

These are the towns along the coast. Say which one you mean.

  • Caloundra
  • Mooloolaba
  • Maroochydore
  • Cotton Tree
  • Alexandra Headland
  • Coolum
  • Noosa Heads
  • Buderim
  • Eumundi
  • Nambour
  • Maleny

VIP members can set a distance filter, which helps when the person you want is a town or two up the coast. Meet halfway in a public place, as meeting for sex safely suggests.

Daylight and dusk

A market crowd and a slower pace

Checked October 2026. Confirm market days with each organiser.

  • Eumundi Markets

Open every Wednesday and Saturday, 7.30am to 2pm, all year, says the organiser, who counts more than 360 stallholders.

  • Twilight and sunset markets

Visit Sunshine Coast lists Cotton Tree Twilight Markets on the first Friday of the month, 5pm to 9pm, and Mooloolaba Sunset Market on the first and third Saturday, 5pm to 8.30pm.

  • Who lives here

The 2021 Census puts the Sunshine Coast council area’s median age at 43 (Noosa is counted separately), with 21.7% of residents aged 65 or over and 11.1% aged 25 to 34. Don’t assume a young crowd.

Getting around without a car

As of October 2026, from TransLink unless stated.

Train
Visit Sunshine Coast lists stations at Beerwah, Landsborough, Nambour and Cooroy, so the line runs inland, not along the beaches. TransLink puts the last standard train from Brisbane Central at 11.37pm Monday to Friday and 8.37pm on weekends.
Bus
TransLink’s late-night list has two routes: 600, Caloundra to Maroochydore via Mooloolaba, and 616, Maroochydore to Palmview via Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba, Buderim and Sippy Downs. Buses run through the night on Friday and Saturday nights and finish much earlier on other nights, so check the TransLink trip planner. Fares are 50 cents a trip.
Taxi and rideshare
TransLink lists secure ranks on Friday and Saturday nights in Maroochydore, on Ocean Street, and Noosa, near Noosa Drive and Hastings Street. The Queensland Government says to book rideshare in the app, as you cannot hail one.

Where can you book an STI check on the Sunshine Coast?

Healthdirect, the national health directory, lists the Sunshine Coast Sexual Health Service at Caloundra Hospital, 2 West Terrace, Caloundra, on 07 3542 5065. An appointment is needed, no fee applies and no Medicare card is required. Hours are 8am to 4pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 8am to 7pm Wednesday, as of October 2026. Call before you go, as details may vary.

Caloundra sits towards the southern end of the coast, so allow for the drive. The STI testing guide covers your other options.

Crisp winter days and festival weekends

Wikipedia’s climate table for Sunshine Coast Airport, citing the Bureau of Meteorology, gives January a 29.1°C average high and February the most rain, at 217.5 mm. Visit Sunshine Coast calls winter days crisp and the season for arts and food events, and says humpback whales are around from June to the end of October.

The organisers list the Noosa Food and Wine Festival for 17 to 20 June 2027 and the Sunshine Coast Marathon for 1 August 2027.

What ages are on the site?

Across Queensland, this is the age mix of members.

18 to 24 16%
25 to 34 26%
35 to 44 25%
45 to 54 18%
55 to 64 9%
65 and over 6%

Age bands among the members in Queensland, each one a share of the list.

Brisbane is one hour’s drive south, says Visit Sunshine Coast. See Brisbane, the Gold Coast beyond it or every city.

Sunshine Coast meets: quick answers

Is there one central place to meet on the Sunshine Coast?

No. Wikipedia puts the urban area at about 60 km of coastline, from Pelican Waters to Tewantin, and the beach towns are separate. Agree the town in your chat, then choose a public spot there, such as a market.

Can I take the train to Mooloolaba or Noosa?

No. The railway runs inland, with stations at Beerwah, Landsborough, Nambour and Cooroy, so reaching a beach town means a bus, taxi, rideshare or car. TransLink lists two late-night bus routes, 600 and 616. They run through the night on Friday and Saturday nights and finish much earlier on other nights, so check the trip planner.

Where can I get an STI test on the Sunshine Coast?

Healthdirect lists the Sunshine Coast Sexual Health Service at Caloundra Hospital, phone 07 3542 5065, appointment needed and no fee. It says to call before visiting. Caloundra is towards the southern end of the coast, so allow travel time.
